About two decades ago, in Burkina Faso -as a result of the lack of security, the corruption of law enforcement and the bribery of judicial authorities -the emergence armed self-defence groups created mainly to fight robbery, thieves and armed assaults began to emerge. These militias, popularly known in the Mossi language as Koglweogo (like the Defenders of Nature) have become the law and occupy the territory where police and military forces are absent within a completely corrupt system. Traditional uniforms, weapons of past centuries, unorthodox methods of interrogation, lashes, chains, machetes ... extreme punishment. The forty soldiers of the Koglweogo in Goudrin who watch over and care for the more than 53,000 inhabitants of this slum outside Ouagadougou are very clear: Those who do not like Koglweogo are because they are thieves.

Rohingya crisis is a widely talked issue of the recent times. Unlike many other tensions revolving around other minority communities, this issue has met a wide scale of exposure and media coverage. This certainly opens the door for the world to contemplate on and distinguish between what is right and wrong. Rohingya is the most persecuted community. They have been expatriated from their own neighborhood, holding an improbable story, capable of shocking the world. The story unveils the tales of suffering, agony and ill treatment from their government. Rohingyas are an ethnic community, mostly consisting of Muslims, who used to live in the state of Rakhine for centuries. The minority group is consisted of 1.3 million people, but only 40,000 of them hold the citizenship of Myanmar. The government of Myanmar defies the fact that they are their very own people; rather it has regarded them as illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, who trespassed on the land of Myanmar during the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971. As different dimensions of the story unfold, the root to this crisis is asserted to have been found in the 80’s. The then ruling party in Myanmar, enforced a law in 1982, which refused to recognize Rohingyas as an ethnic group, let alone as citizens of Myanmar. From then onwards, the sufferings and agony of these people know no bound. The situation began to get worse with the increasing attacks carried by the Myanmar Army on the Rohingyas, and on August 25, 2017, the Rohingyas, for the sake of saving their lives, started to evacuate their own lands and entered into their neighboring country called Bangladesh. The magnitude of refugee influx was so influencing that about a million of Rohingyas entered into the land of Bangladesh in a matter of just a few days. Their houses were burnt, assets were seized, and their belongings were killed. Since most of their historical evidences have been destroyed already, it has now become difficult to advocate for the right of their citizenship. Yet, authentic sources confirm that a bilateral treaty may be signed between both neighboring countries in order to rehabilitate them. While covering the Rohingya crisis, I could sense the prominent fear of life and insecurities on the faces of Rohingya that stemmed from the attacks. They saw death from a hand’s distance. Their face spoke of their ordeal. Thus, they seemed to be at a loss when asked about going back to their homeland. The immense trepidation on their face moved me. They seemed not to get over with their traumatic experiences; some of them turned into stones losing their beloved ones. The only thing they wanted was the hope to stay alive without being killed, fired or slaughtered. Even here in the refugee camps, they have not become capable of making their two ends meet. All of these collective experiences have put me into disturbance. At the same time, the sealing of the borders may seem easy, but it’s difficult to implement one. And following this, tragedies, unfolding one by one gradually, seem never ending. Above all, it made me realize the preciousness of life.

Corruption and banditism flourish as never before. People became poor and helpless. In 2017, Ukraine began a new stage of struggle for regeneration of political system of the country. The struggle was headed by Mikheil Saakashvili, ex-President of Georgia. Like Prometheus he took up a complex work, the meaning: To be or not to be. The goal is to make Ukraine a prosperous state.

Rohingya Refugee Crisis: An estimated 650,000 Rohingya (according to UNICEF, almost 60 percent of the refugees are children) have fled Myanmar to neighboring Bangladesh to escape killings, arson, sexual violence and other atrocities. Most of them walked three to six days, barefoot over mountains and across rivers. They arrived exhausted, sick and hungry. Human rights investigators said that Myanmar’s military killed more than 1,000 civilians in the state of Rakhine, and possibly as many as 5,000, though it will be hard to ever know because Myanmar is not allowing the United Nations or anyone else into the impacted areas. United Nations OHCHR said that According to Human Rights Watch, since August25, 2017, Burmese security forces have been carrying out a campaign of ethnic cleansing against Rohingya Muslims government troops had targeted “houses, fields, food-stocks, crops, livestock and even trees,” making it “almost impossible” for the Rohingya to return home. This is the world’s fastest growing refugee crisis. Minara Begum entered Bangladesh from Myanmar after walking for four days and crossing the river. A boatman took 5000 BDT ($63) in exchange for crossing the river. Minara Begum's parents died in 2012 at the hands of Myanmar army and, in September 2017, the Myanmar army killed her husband's parents. Her husband's sister was slaughtered after being raped and her husband's brother was shot dead. They haven’t yet received any relief in Tengkhali refugee camp in Ukhia. She built a house with plastic. She has three daughters and her sister in law has two. The children urgently need protection, food, water and sanitation and health services. Many Rohingya mothers are giving birth to children while coming to Bangladesh from Myanmar and many children have been born in refugee camps. Children suffered greatly in this crisis, losing their childhood and education and lacking a safe and nurturing environment. The Myanmar government does not even use the word Rohingya or recognize them as a distinct group, preferring to call them Bengalis.” Much of the violence was flamboyantly brutal, intimate and personal — the kind that is unleashed by a long, bitter history of ethnic hatred. People were holding the soldiers’ feet, begging for their lives. But they didn’t stop. They just kicked them off and killed them. They chopped people into pieces. They shot people. They threw children into the fire. They raped women and young girls and left them senseless. They are killing the Rohingya like dogs. Even some influential Buddhist monks said the Rohingya were the reincarnation of snakes and insects and should be exterminated, like vermin. New reports claim the Myanmar military has begun laying landmines along the border and that soldiers have been shooting unarmed civilians even as they try to flee. Rohingya Muslims demand full-fledged Myanmar citizenship and recognition as Rohingya. Recent Report: 6,700 Rohingya were killed by Myanmar security forces in one month following a government-led crackdown in the country's Rakhine state in late August, according to Doctors Without Borders (MSF).

An elderly woman blinded by cataracts (the leading cause of blindness and vision loss in Africa and contributing to approximately half of all causes of blindness in the continent) before to be operated by doctors from the Spanish NGO ACCI in the operating room built in Dapaong (Togo, West Africa). This NGO has been carrying out medical expeditions for over 10 years to bring medical attention from ophthalmology to the inhabitants (mainly children) of the north of this forgotten country. Of the more than 39 million people worldwide suffering from unnecessary blindness, more than half are due to cataract – which can be surgically treated. Most of these people live in the developing world, where poor nutrition and limited access to eye care can mean a life limited by needless blindness. Numerous studies have shown that sight restoration with cataract surgery is among the most cost-effective interventions in health care. Some 18 million needlessly-blind cataract patients still await care, most of them with no place to turn. Social welfare indicators place Togo at the bottom of the planet's human development index (HDI). It was also considered as the least happy country on the planet according to the UN World Happiness Report.

After Myanmar's army carried out the 'ethnic cleansing' of the Rohingya in Rakhine state. More than half million fled from Myanmar violence including 340,000 children (till october 2017 acoording to UNICEF). During this brutal military crackdown hundreds dead and thousands of villages burned to the ground. After several day's of walk through canal, hill and muddy path they reached safely at refugee camp. Bangladesh Government allocates 2,500 acres (3.9 square miles) of land to shelter the Rohingya people. Bangladesh Government with help of national and international organization handling this challenge to overcome.

Children with disabilities (especially girls) are at high risk of physical, emotional and sexual abuse as well as being abandoned by their families. There is a perception on the part of their communities that the disabilities are due to a divine punishment, the result of the sins committed by the parents, of an act of the devil, or that the child is a sorcerer. Minors who suffer from a disability are considered supernatural, strangers or demons. In some areas of the country, children with cerebral palsy are known as snakes, as they lie on the ground. Against. The project is about a young generation of the Russian protest movement. A new surge of protest activity covered almost all regions of Russia in 2017. Как правило, рацион девушки с анорексией составляют овощи, фрукты и вода. Не более 500 калорий в день, при суточной норме в 2000. На завтрак – кофе, он, как и сигареты, помогает заглушить голод. Следующий этап расстройства – булимия. Бесконтрольный приём пищи в больших количествах становится каждодневным адом и заканчивается стимуляцией очищения желудка до 5-6 раз ежедневно. Многие люди, страдающие анорексией, осознают свою проблему, но страх набрать лишние граммы делают ее похожей на наркотическую зависимость.

27 декабря 1943 года Президиум Верховного Совета СССР издал указ о ликвидации Калмыцкой АССР. Сразу после началось осуществление операции «Улусы» - депортация коренного населения Калмыкии в Сибирь. Выселение калмыков рассматривалась как мера наказания за массовое противодействие органам Советской власти и борьбу против Красной Армии. Для осуществления операции руководство НКВД задействовало более 4000 отозванных с фронта солдат. Всего за два дня около сотни тысяч человек лишились дома. Их вывозили в вагонах для скота, по дороге они умирали от голода, переохлаждения и эпидемий. Калмыки были расселены по всей Сибири. Их везли в Омскую, Новосибирскую, Свердловскую, Тюменскую и другие области. Компактное проживание не допускалось, в одной деревне оставляли по несколько семей. В ссылке умерло более 40 тысяч человек. Общие потери населения калмыцкого народа составили более половины его общей численности. 17 марта 1956 года калмыки были реабилитированы, им было разрешено вернуться на родину. Они бросали обжитые места и возвращались на родную землю. Спустя десятилетия им удалось сохранить свою культуру, язык и традиции. В 1991 году российским парламентом депортация калмыков была признака актом геноцида.

Located in one of the many slums of the Burkinabe capital, in this quarry work more than 1500 people, mainly women and children. It is the last work hope for the poorest people of the city, those who have no other choice. An incredibly inhospitable place. Located in one of the neighborhoods of the Burkinabe capital, this quarry employs around 1,250 people, mainly women. It is the last chance of work for the poorest people in the city, those who have no other choice. An incredibly inhospitable place. An area where the heat is unbearably (every day it is over 40 degrees Celsius) and which makes it practically impossible to work in minimum conditions of safety and hygiene, making this place ideal for the proliferation of respiratory and perennial skin diseases among its inhabitants. Burkina Faso, with a population of around 14 million people, presents significant obstacles in the fight against poverty and injustice. About 30 per cent of the population lives on less than $1 a day.

A rapa das bestas is the name given to the annual curro (roundup) of wild horses celebrated the first friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday of July in Sabucedo, Pontevedra, Spain. Across more than 200 km² of hillside currently more than six-hundred horses roam freely in fourteen droves, referred to in Galician as bestas (mares) and garañones (stallions). The festival involves bringing the horses down from the hillside, gathering them into an enclosure, cutting their manes and tails, and tagging them, nowadays with a microchip. The curro in Sabucedo is the most renowned of all and is set apart from the rest by unique characteristics, the most important of which is that neither ropes, sticks, nor other such instruments are used to subdue the animals. The aloitadores, those responsible for restraining the horses whilst the rapa takes place, use only their body strength and raw skill to complete the job.

Due to heavy rain and flood almost one million people are hardest hit at West Bengal , India in 2017. People trying to move to a safer place as their home got totally destroyed from this devastating flood. Rescue operation from the local people only the last option for them to survive with some food and drinking water .

Нікому. І ніколи. Ця серія фотографій показує іншу сторону сезону. Ту, яка зазвичай залишається поза увагою пересічного відпочивальника, про яку зазвичай не говорять, і не тому, що не можна. These photos were taken in a small village near Ericeira, name name of which I did not manage to find out. I was amazed by the desire of its inhabitants to beauty in the simple. So I concentrated on the details of the houses in this village.

Talai Story The story of Alexei Talai began with the old ammunition from the Second world war, that did not explode but waited for many years. Alexey lost his legs and hands (one hand fully and one below the elbow). Alex extinguished the fire, that the local children had made. The old war ammunition got into this fire and exploded. Alexey miraculously survived, but after this accident a completely different life began. Surgery, rehabilitation and acceptance of the new way of life. Years later Alexey became a master of sports in swimming, a member of the Paralympic national team of Belarus and was awarded the title of black belt in Taekwondo in 2010 in the United States. Sport occupied one of the main places in Alexey’s life, he has become a kind of psychological mentor.
